Highlights of North Carolina

The tar heel state is known for being diverse and full of opportunities for adventure among its three regions. The Piedmont, Coastal, and Mountain regions of North Carolina are essentially the middle and ends of the state, but each region has its own hot spot attractions and locations.

The Blue Ridge Parkway travels 252 miles in North Carolina’s mountains, with ample exits for weekend getaways from Asheville to Boone. Cities like Charlotte, Durham and Greensboro exude rich character perfect to explore on a romantic escape. Coastal towns like New Bern and Wilmington blend modern charm and history. And 300 miles of beaches guarantee family vacation fun from the Outer Banks to Bald Head Island to Emerald Isle.

Mount Airy is Mayberry

Step back to a simpler time with a visit to Mount Airy, North Carolina. Actor Andy Griffith grew up there, and it’s no coincidence that a stroll down Main Street reminds people of the town of Mayberry on the popular ‘60s hit TV series, The Andy Griffith Show. Fans can visit Floyd’s City Barber Shop, the Old Mayberry Jail, Snappy Lunch, and even Andy’s childhood home. You’ll be sure to relish the generous spirit that you encounter wherever you go.
