Magical Mercer-Williams House

Designed by New York architect, John S. Norris, for General Hugh W. Mercer, the great-grandfather of celebrated songwriter Johnny Mercer, the Mercer-Williams House Museum and Carriage Shop is a gorgeous Italianate Villa-style mansion full of immaculate antiques and radiant artwork. Constructed with rose-colored “Philadelphia Red” bricks, the house boasts a stunning stained-glass interior dome from 1868, when the home was completed. Later owned by James A.
